Expertise rooted in deep inquiry and lived experience

Sanchaara Collective was founded on the conviction that the most meaningful cultural work emerges from authentic expertise — not academic credentialing alone, but years of immersive practice, fieldwork, and a genuine reverence for the traditions we steward.

Our team brings together specialists across Indian classical arts, temple architecture, manuscript traditions, tribal and folk heritage, and contemporary art markets. We work not as observers, but as active participants in the living cultural fabric.

Krithika Sivaswamy

Curatorial Lead

Krithika is the Curatorial Lead at Sanchaara Collective. A student of Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music, and a keen student of history, she brings a deep engagement with India's cultural traditions to her work. Hailing from a family of shrautis, adhvaryus, artists, and connoisseurs, she considers it a privilege to have had early exposure to the rich and layered world of Hindu arts and knowledge systems.

At Sanchaara, Krithika leads the collective's curatorial vision, shaping the aesthetic and intellectual direction of its projects. Her work draws from her grounding in classical performing arts, visual culture, and the curation of cultural initiatives across India. With a strong commitment to living traditions, she has cultivated meaningful relationships with artists, institutions, and cultural communities that form the backbone of Sanchaara's collaborative practice. A keen political observer, she is particularly invested in addressing contemporary questions around performing arts, heritage, and cultural narratives in Bharat.

She is an engineer by qualification and is also a partner in a renewable energy firm.

Principles that guide our work

01

Scholarly Integrity

Every recommendation we make is grounded in rigorous research. We do not separate scholarship from practice.

02

Community Custodianship

Heritage belongs first to the communities that created and carry it. We amplify, not appropriate.

03

Ethical Stewardship

We refuse engagements that undermine provenance transparency or facilitate the commodification of sacred traditions.

04

Living Continuity

The most meaningful heritage work ensures traditions remain alive — not preserved in glass, but practised in the present.
